When you enter a name, location, or similar detail into a search box, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our own system.

Michigan FOIA, including MCL 15.231, governs access to many public records held by Michigan public bodies. It does not govern how unrelated third-party websites handle your browser activity. Advertising partners may also use their own systems to track activity across websites for targeted ads.
